GIS FEATHERS ITS SPORTS CAP AGAIN!

 

 

The perseverance and patience of the young athletes of Gulf Indian School paid rich dividends when the school shot to the third position at CBSE Kuwait Cluster Athletic Meet held on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th December 2012.  The school clinched the third position with a grand tally of 202 points. 

The young athletes amassed 9 gold, 20 silver and 16 bronze medals.  Abhinav Sudheer of class X secured the Individual Championship in the under-16 category with 3 gold & 1 silver bringing pride and joy to the GIS fraternity.  12 of our stars have been qualified for the Nationals to be held in India this month. 

Gulf Indian School lays as much importance to sports as academics and imparts training to aspiring athletes.  The talented pupils have been given intensive training by Physical Education teachers Mrs. Mariamma Santhosh and Mr. Vinod Arjunan.

Aleena Mary Santhosh and Sanjay Samuel Mathew of Gulf Indian School were the runners-up in the 16th KITCO Interschool Quiz Competition organized by the Bengali Cultural Society. In the Preliminary Round they were the top scorers among the 12 schools that participated. 


GIS EXCELS IN KQ MATTERS

Peter Nikhil David and Eshita Bansal of Gulf Indian School were the proud reciepients  of  the Rolling Trophy (shared with the Indian Community School team) and the Cash Award for KQ Matters Quiz Competition organized by Indian Educational School, Kuwait. GIS has been achieving this honour for the past 3 consecutive years.


CRY CHESS TOURNAMENT

Winners from Gulf Indian School in the CRY Chess Tournament which was held on  9th November 2012 at FAIPS.  

1st Place - Isaac Abheek  -  class 8-D -  Blue Saphire Group.
1st Place - Jonathan Vinay – class  5-B  - Green Emerald Group.
3rd Place - S. Naveenkumar - class 7-C - Red Ruby Group.
3rd Place - Ram Narayanan - class 12 A - White Opal Group.

Bhakti Priya – 1ST Runner Up in the Debate competition held by Indian Muslim Welfare Association (IMWA) on 18th May 2012.


SPARKLING PERFORMANCE BY GIS
 

The spectacular performance of class X of Gulf Indian School once again reflected the disciplined training of the teaching faculty under the unerring guidance of the Principal. 

Out of the 116 students, 115 opted for the ‘School Conducted’ CBSE examination and all of them qualified for admission to the next level. 

19 students scored the maximum CGPA 10. 

47 students scored CGPA 9 and above.  The result emphasizes the importance of the conducive and stress free environment that is being provided by GIS to the students.

Vijay Anant of class VIII-A was declared as one of the winners in the 17th Art competition conducted by Radisson Blu on 5th May 2012 in association with Commercial Bank of Kuwait.  He was awarded a cash prize of KD 50/-


‘SHAASTROTSAV'

 

In the “Shaastrotsav” - festival of Science - organized by the Palghat NSS Engineering college Alumni Association, held on 27th April Friday at SIMS Salmiya, the following students from Gulf Indian School had won various prizes.
